Frequently asked

The most common questions.

  • For general admission, the day before is usually fine. For the Tutankhamun Galleries and any of our experiences, we recommend at least one week — and two to three weeks during peak season (October–March).

  • Yes. Groups of 10–60 should write to [email protected] and we will arrange a dedicated entry slot, a meeting point, and (optionally) a private guide.

  • Children under 6 enter free with an accompanying adult and do not need a ticket. Children aged 6–12 require a child ticket. The Family Pass includes up to three children under 12.

  • Your e-ticket QR code is scanned at the main entry pavilion. You do not need to print it — a phone screen is fine. Have your ID ready if you booked a Student or Senior ticket.

  • Timed entry tickets (Tutankhamun, evening events, experiences) include a 30-minute grace window. After that, we will try to reseat you in a later slot — but we cannot guarantee it on busy days.

  • Personal photography (no flash, no tripod) is allowed in all main galleries. The Tutankhamun Galleries and the conservation lab are no-photography zones.

  • Yes. Every public gallery, including the Grand Staircase route, has a step-free alternative via lifts. Wheelchairs are available at the main entrance free of charge.

  • Trained service animals are welcome throughout the museum. Please mention this when booking so we can let the gate team know.

  • Yes — free of charge until 24 hours before your visit. After that, tickets are non-refundable but can be moved to another date within 12 months, subject to availability.

  • On the rare occasions we close at short notice, every affected ticket is automatically refunded in full and you will receive an email within 48 hours.
